This song in particular is what started the entire post-punk movement. Bela Lugosi’s Dead came out as a single back in 1979. Bauhaus took the typical fast-paced, loud, angsty vocals of punk and revamped it to a slower temped, dreary vocal, harmonic bass that defines the gothic rock genre. It also was featured in the 5th season of American Horror Story: Hotel as well as other works.
